Milton heritage society
The Milton Society
The Society is actively involved in collecting photographs, maps, postcards & other vintage documents that tell the story of Milton Parish in the southwestern corner of Hampshire. Some of these items are on display in the New Milton Memorial Centre and via the dedicated website.
The MHS puts on five talks a year in a local hall, free to members and £5 entry for visitors. Visual displays are given at outdoor events such as the annual Bashley Fair and events on the New Milton Recreation Ground.
The MHS carries out oral history recordings with those residents who have lived in our community for many years.
These oral history recordings will be available on our website & via the St Barbe Museum.

How you can help
If you have experience in putting on exhibitions or other skills that would be of use to us we would love to hear from you. In addition, if you have any maps, photographs or images that you would be willing to allow us to use, we would be grateful. We scan in the document and return the original to you.
Join the Society
Membership of the MHS is open to all at an annual fee of just £15. For this, entry to all our talks is free. The membership fee goes entirely to running MHS – with all of the managing committee giving their time.
Make a donation
There is an opportunity to make donations to further help with the costs of running society. For this and more information on MHS please contact us via the website. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
